Bad Body Image November 20 2008
How do you help someone deal with their bad body image when you yourself have one. I am well aware of the fact that I have a complete warped view on myself. People have been telling me this for years. Although I know this, I still don't trust it and am still hell bent on making as many changes and adjustments as I can to feel better about myself. I just feel that I am not in any way fit to help people feel better about themselves.
I have found myself trapped because I know that you do not tell 15 year olds that they should have plastic surgery to fix their problems or that they are just being silly and that I am sure they are fine. That would be extremly hypocritical of me considering I don't even listen to that advice. Hmmm... I think I am going to have to mull over this one for a bit longer.
Superpowers November 19 2008
If I could have any superpower I would have to choose teleportation. So quick and easy and the ammount of money I would save on petrol and other car related expenses. On a tangent for a moment, this apparant crisis that is going on is fantastic! Petrol is down to $1.15 a litre. I don't know what people are worried about. I only see positives from this thing. Anyway back to the point. I could easily go overseas, I could wake up 5 minutes before having to be at work, get dressed and teleport my way to work. There would never be an excuse for being late though. I don't think you get caught in teleportation jams.
Mind you, I do also think that Peter's power in Heroes would actually be the best one to ever have. Absorb everyone else powers and have them all. Yes please. This doesn't work very well though if no one else has any so in that case we go with teleporting. What superpower would you choose?
5 Things...November 14 2008
If someone turned to you and said you could only keep 5 things you have what would they be?
I couldn't handle it if someone said that to me I have way too many things I love too much but I am going to try to answer this.
1. DVD Collection
Yep, the entire collection. That way I am kind of cheating. I am proud of them all and have worked hard to get them.
The questions isn't being totally strict it does say things and not just 5 singular items. I am running with this now.
2. Books Yep again I am keeping all my books. The collection of them counts as well. Mind you if I really could only choose one or well lets say two, then I would have to take my complete Jane Austen collection and The complete works of William Shakespeare. Oh damn... I just realised, all the movie, acting and Buffy/Angel books have to come too. Nope sorry the book collection is coming with me.
3. My Bed My amazing huge wooden bed will be staying with me. The best buy ever. Not a chance would I ever be able to get a bed like it again for the price we paid for it. Fantastic wood work, great colour, sure the height is probably its only downfall but that I can live with. I love it!
4. My Computer It has everything on it. There are photos, music, information. I would keep this for sure. I can pretty much access most things I really want from it.
5. My Car I like my car. It gives me freedom to go as far as I can afford. Petrol is expensive these days. I hate days when the car is out of action getting serviced or something. It isn't the best car ever but it's mine and I love candy. Yep that's the cars name. She has a booty, hence the name.
Welcome Back Kotter November 10 2008
Or should I say welcome back me? I am totally stoked to have this site back. As much as Pirate Spirit has become a huge part of my web life I am glad to have Universally - Acknowledged back as my personal blog. I have redone Pirate Spirit and keep an eye out for my site collective which I am sure I will be plugging soon.
I had a fantastic weekend. It involved lots of relaxing as well as finally putting up my projector in my room. I am super excited. As soon as it was installed I watched A Knights Tale and of course watched some Gilmore Girls before falling asleep last night. It is fantastic chilling in bed and just looking at the wall for entertainment. Next weekend I will be doing the LOTR trilogy! Can't wait for that.
Also went to the town festival on Saturday night. It was so much fun, we watched the fireworks, ate fairy floss and went on the Cha Cha. I laughed my arse off with Snuggle-Slut whilst we played corners as the ride spun round. I also finally got some creativity happening in the form of friendship bands whilst I sat at Snuggle-Sluts and watched Heroes.
